This is LOVE

Date night! So a week and a half ago on Thursday the hubs and I were able to go for a date night. As we try to make sure we have a routine schedule of dates, we took full advantage of this night.

We had to be in walnut creek for an appointment and since I already had a hair appointment scheduled in Castro Valley we decided to just make a night of it. Our appointment finished early so we headed to this sushi spot in Danville that is unbelievably yummy. I think it has become one of my favorite sushi spots.

Spicy edamame, Prawn Lettuce Wraps, Garlic Rice, Miso Soup, Spicy Crunchy Yellowtail, Hawaiian Roll, and Green Tea Creme Brûlée filled our tummies.

After, we took a quick stroll through the shopping mall area and then quickly headed to my hair appointment.

I absolutely love my hair dresser! We've been friends since the young days. And she's been doing my hair for probably like 7 years or so. This year we've been trying new stuff out and I have to say, I'm loving this "do"!

We ended the night with a quiet ride home enjoying each others company driving the longest route home just like the good ole days.

I have to give major props to the hubby. This was his 2nd hair sitting and said we should plan date nights every time I get my hair done.

Hubby Thursday - I have a Dream

Lately with moving Jay and I haven't had any time really for each other besides maybe 30 minutes when we eat dinner and if that. Sometimes our conversations merely go as much as "How are you or how is your day?" so thank God for texting... I'm able to send Jay updates on what's going on or vice versa he is able to check in with me if he isn't in his office.

Last night Jay received a phone call from my cousin who works security in San Francisco for an event company asking if he wanted to pull a shift with him on Saturday. The shift would be about 8-10 hours, as of last night he wasn't sure the exact times. Jay said Yes since we could use some extra cash to help out.

On our way over to make parent's house for dinner, I was telling Jay that I appreciate his willingness to work a little extra but that he really didn't have to, we would be able to manage. So we started talking about "Jay's future".  Jay was telling me that he really wanted to because it would help and make a difference and that an opportunity doesn't just happen on a whim or for no reason. He then proceeded to tell me how he would like to go back to school starting in January to finish out his schooling for a Bachelor's degree. His job offers salary increases for different areas of schooling and also will compensate for the cost of school. I thought this would be a great idea especially since he can utilize what his work offers.

We continued to discuss his other plans to help benefit his position at the company and also benefit Jay which would of course benefit us, his family.

Jay plans to get his realtor license. He has been talking about it on and off for a couple years now but since he didn't have a substantial job or any income he decided to put it on the back burner. I'm so happy he will be able to fulfill one of his dreams. His job has a couple departments that Jay could easily jump into. Jay said what helped him make this decision was because the company's focus is 'helping the community'. When Jay transferred over to the new department he is in, Mental Health and Wellness, it brought a lot of things in prospective for him. He said he would really like to give back in some way and help people, especially people who are having a hard time with trying to buy houses, keep their house, etc.

Another goal Jay would like to fulfill in the next year is acquire a Life insurance license. A coworker had gave Jay information about it since he has his license. The guy is one of the directors and does it on the side. I think the guy did it before he had a job there and just kept doing because he really liked it. Jay looked into it and actually has learned a lot about IRA's and 401K's and how to invest your money. I was amazed at how much stuff he read and learned in just a short amount of time. He isn't in too much of a rush to jump into it since it won't be work related but is something he is hoping to accomplish.

With all to look forward to for Jay, I told him that I want him to be happy and able to fulfill some of his dreams outlined for the next year. I decided to only go back to school part-time starting in January. This way it will be a little easier on the home life with one of us at home.

I will keep updating as he enrolls back into school and starts the process for his license.

I'm so super duper proud at how far he has come within his company in just 5-6 months that he has been there with them. He received an award earlier this week for being an overachiever and very caring towards a client. The director received a 5 minute voicemail of how much they appreciated Jay's assistance.

Go babe! You can do it!

Here's a pic of Jay and Bri'elle, I need to take a recent one of us

Hubby Thursdays - Give Thanks

As a contribute to Thanksgiving I will be doing a

The hubby has been working so hard lately... at his job and at home. With me on bedrest ALOT rests on his shoulders. Starting with dropping and picking up Bri'elle from the sitters, going to work, coming home and doing house chores, fixing dinner and even sometimes dessert, bath time, bed time, and with whatever time is left he is doing other work-related things or leisure things. Sometimes we don't even get to have a full conversation or alone time.

Lately we have had tons of things on our plate I know it is weighing down on him but the upside is I've been able to do some things here and there to help out. It makes me sad knowing that I can't help him even though its for mine and the baby's health. I thank God everyday and pray that God will guide Jay in the right directions. Also to lift any burdens that Jay may have. It's always great to see your partner smile and be happy.

Despite all the hardwork the he hubby has being doing and stress he has taken on he managed to get a promotion. A month ago another department like his work and offered him a job all he needed to do is to pass their test. He did!!! I'm so very proud of him. He was actually suppose to start the new position the last week of October however the department he works for now wasn't able to find a replacement in time so he now starts his new position on the 16th ofhis November.

I know God was definitely looking out for Jay. This was the encouragement he needed and definitely a booster for him. He has been all happy, very proud of himself. I'm proud of you too babe. You seem to amaze me more and more the longer we have been together. I know possibilities are endless especially with God on our side.

This blog posting is for my hubby and all hubbies out there who take care of their wives!!!!!!

I'm hoping to surprise Jay soon with a date night. I'm thinking dinner and a movie (since that is pretty much all I've been approved to do).

Hubby Thursdays - Family Date

Hubby Thursday - Family date night

July 21st

After work Jay pick me up and together with Bri'elle we headed to Emeryville to have dinner and hangout. It was so much fun spending some quality time with the three of us. We get wrapped up in our daily lives we forget to stop and take a moment to soak everything up and that's exactly what I did. It felt as if time slowed down so I could enjoy every last minute with my two loves.

We went to the Bay Street district of Emeryville. The first stop was the Teacake Bake Shop. There we of course got our favorite pink velvet cupcake and clover milk. We sat in the courtyard and listened to the band from a nearby highschool play music. Bri'elle loves music so we were up close to them.

After we then headed to Pasta Pomodoro for dinner. We were all starving!!! And ordered some yummy food we shared. Jay order his usual when we go to Italian, Chicken Parmigiana. I ordered Chicken in lemon and thyme. Bri'elle shared from our plates with her side of Broccoli and together as an appetizer we shared the butternut squash ravioli's. As complimentary the waiter gave us an ice cream (for Bri'elle) but of course Jay and I had to get in on it.

Once dinner was finished we were in a food coma so we walked around for a couple minutes and decided to head back home.

It was such an enjoyable night together. I love family time!!!!!

Hubby Thursday - Proud

07-07-11 Thursday

Hubby Thursdays - Proud

Jay has a job!!!!!

His first full day of work was Wednesday (07-06-11). He loves it so much. He is an accountant/office manager for all the offices in the district. I'm so glad this opportunity came through. To see his face every morning and when he returns from work is priceless.

I'm so PROUD of him... On Thursday to celebrate I went work shopping for him. I bought two short-sleeved dress shirts for him and had it waiting on the bed layed out with a note of encouragement. I also prepared dinner (wings) and for dessert a lava cake (made from our new pampered chef rice cooker). When Jay got home he was able to put his feet up and relax while I took care of everything for him. :)

We have been thanking God everyday for hearing our prayers (and some of yours who have been praying for us, THANK YOU!). It's so awesome to see God's power come in to play when you least expect it. It is a true blessing and couldn't have happened in a more perfect time.

Hubby Thursday - Thankful

Following Olga Marquez with her Hubby Thursdays

Thankful for the Hubs for many reasons!...

Lately it has been extremely hard especially when I look back on the life that we had before he was laid off. We were comfortable and stable. After Jay was laid off things plummeted. I know that it is really hard to compare your past, believe me, I've learned it a few times over and battle it since I've had so many life changing events that have impacted my future. I find myself wondering if this would have changed and things would be like that.... I guess we all do it and it's natural (I HOPE!).

But when it comes down to it I'm truly thankful & blessed. Things happen for many reasons that we are destined to find the right path God is steering us towards and walking us through. I'm so thankful that I get to wake up everyday next to my hubby. No matter what goes on I know we will make it. We have been through some troubling things and we have out did them all. God knows how to get our attention and I think at times things like this happen to get us on the right path. I'm so thankful that the hubby is able to stay home with our little girl and we didn't have to pay for daycare for almost two years. I'm thankful that majority of the time my breakfast and lunch are made before I leave for work and I have a snack waiting for me when I get home. He is charming & handsome. He is honest and has a good heart. He has good persuasion. He would do anything for his family if it came down to it. I could go on and on.... I'm thankful he is my best friend for life!

If you look through your life at the things that have happened to you it makes you realize the important things and what to be thankful for. Your husband and partner is the person that is standing right there with you supporting you, loving you, and taking care of you.

I <3 you babe!!!!!!!

I cooked Jay dinner tonight as a little celebration since was setup for a potential job (this was on Thursday 06/30). For dinner I served up homemade pizza, homemade calzone, breadsticks, and salad. For dessert Bri'elle helped me make chocolate chip cookies. The food was so yummy. I don't think we are ordering pizza out again. The pizza came out soooo good. I guess I'm quite the pizzeria cooker, lol.

I LOVE MY HUSBAND WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!

Hubby Thursdays - QT & TLC

Linking up with Olga Marquez with Hubby Thursdays - Family QT (Quality Time)

This post was for two weeks ago.....

What is your family tradition for the summer or what is your favorite family QT?

Summer is one of our favorite times! It's happy and warm and has to bring a smile to your face :)
We love going on walks; we go rain or shine. We started when I was pregnant and just have kept it up. Most of the time we go a little bit after dinner once our tummies have settled. Bri'elle loves being outdoors so it's nice to do something like this since most of the time she is indoors. I'm sure we will have lots of traditions to follow after this summer as it is also a busy time for us :)

-ALSO-

This post is for last Thursday which I'm calling TLC (Tender Lovin' Care)

A little while ago when Jay & I were cleaning out our storage and making room for new things that we need to put in there I came across my Body shop consultant kit. A couple years ago I started as a consultant to make some extra money. Well, I didn't even make it to sell anything because shortly after I got the kit we moved out of our apartment and back into my parents house which meant I would have no room for the "extras" and in storage it went. Jay was the one who suggested I take it out of storage and use the stuff before it goes bad. Of course I hopped on that opportunity and brought it home. When I came home last week from work the kit was all spread out on the bed and I thought Jay had changed his mind and was going to get rid of it. Jay told me his plans for the night was to give me and Bri'elle pedicures. "How cute" I instantly thought. So he gave us pedicures. Bri'elle loved it and so did I. Everytime it was my turn to get scrubbed, massaged, and painted Bri'elle would try to put her foot up almost like saying daddy what about me. The pedicure turned out great. We got the works and even our toes painted. Jay said he would like to do this for us a couple times a month. Beats paying for a pedicure and I get some QT with my little family all at once.

Go ahead and share with me what your favorite QT & TLC is with your family

Hubby Thursdays - Daddy Love

Hubby Thursday

Link Up - Olga Marquez

Prompt: what do your little one(s) do or say about their daddy that you love?

The two pictures above are my recent faves of the two of them. This was at Laura and Mike's wedding during the first song for the married couple. Bri'elle just wooed her daddy. She knew it was about showing love and was giving daddy lots of kisses. Her grip around his neck became tighter and tighter that no one was going to take her daddy away from her. The most cutest thing. Lately when she hears music or gets in the loving phase because she is so happy she will pretty much make out with Jay (or other family members - depends what it is she is so happy about), mostly with Jay. Bri'elle will smother him with kisses and hugs. Her facial expression is full of love and delight. The cute little noises she makes; little sighs with a giggle melts my heart. I love admiring the relationship the two of them have for each other. It's a blessing to be able to watch the affection of a daddy & daughters love. Sometimes when Jay isn't home Bri'elle will hum this little song of Dadda dadadada dadda dadadada my dadadada my dada and then if I interrupt her she gives me a hug while saying dada. I crack up and enjoy the moment because there are times she calls Jay momma too. This love bubble will hopefully get stronger as she gets older. It will turn into a very loving and respected love for her daddy.

I have a really good relationship with my dad and am completely a DADDY's girl. Believe it or not, I still go crying to my dad when I get hurt or if I need advice. Sometimes I will even come home and just want to sit on the couch next to my dad and enjoy watching a baseball game or whatever funny movie he has on. The love never ends and I don't think it ever will. Something Jay will have to look forward for the rest of his life, and definitely something I will enjoy watching the interactions.

Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

Hubby Thursdays - Our First

Linking up with Olga Marquez

This week's prompt: Our First
9th grade
 Right after we started dating
The Bomb Concert - our first concert
Celebrating our birthdays together (we through a combined party)
Our first Raiders game (for both of us it was a first time going)
 Our first A's game together
Celebrating our first Christmas as a family with our first child

Wow! Going down memory lane...sorry for the gap in time. A lot of pictures are on my other computer (which is down) and on my external hard drive. I wish I could have posted a couple more...

It's funny to see how much we've changed over the years.
