Hubby Thursday - Proud

07-07-11 Thursday

Hubby Thursdays - Proud

Jay has a job!!!!!

His first full day of work was Wednesday (07-06-11). He loves it so much. He is an accountant/office manager for all the offices in the district. I'm so glad this opportunity came through. To see his face every morning and when he returns from work is priceless.

I'm so PROUD of him... On Thursday to celebrate I went work shopping for him. I bought two short-sleeved dress shirts for him and had it waiting on the bed layed out with a note of encouragement. I also prepared dinner (wings) and for dessert a lava cake (made from our new pampered chef rice cooker). When Jay got home he was able to put his feet up and relax while I took care of everything for him. :)

We have been thanking God everyday for hearing our prayers (and some of yours who have been praying for us, THANK YOU!). It's so awesome to see God's power come in to play when you least expect it. It is a true blessing and couldn't have happened in a more perfect time.
 LOVE NOTES

HUBS & WIFEY (excuse my right before bed, no makeup on I just exfoliated look lol)

I'm so proud of you babe! <3

Back to Interviewing

*****Here's a quick little update on Jay's employment status*****

The previous job that he was hired for fell through. The company took adverse actions on offering employment due to Jay's background check. Unfortunately, the things from the past come back to haunt you over 7 years later, YIKES! A big slap in the face. This crushed Jay so badly. He felt like he let us down even though he has grown from his past and turned around, found God, and started on the right path. I felt so badly because I wasn't sure how to comfort him. I could only imagine how I would feel in that situation. I would be completely devastated. I did my best, offered him full support. Poor Jay went slightly in depression mode. It was so scary. But luckily with some good preaching at church and some support from family and friends he was able to get out before he fell to far in.

Once we were able to collect our thinking process on how to start over and what our game plan is, Jay was back to applying for more jobs within a couple days. He even applied for five other jobs at that same company. In the meantime of waiting for the word from the original job we had his record expunged (it didn't clear until after the company ran his background). He was able to apply for jobs with that relief off of his chest that it won't happen again. Whew!

We have some good news!!!!! Jay had an interview with a staffing company in San Francisco a couple weeks back. They have three very good jobs lined up for him. Last week Jay received a call from the woman and he has a phone interview on Monday (this Monday) with one of the companies. She said they are really interested and it would be a quick process because they would like to hire soon. She emailed him some documents to help him prepare for the interview. He already answered a preliminary question in which the company was very impressed. I know he will do great.

Today, he went and tested for the water district treatment operator. He should have the results back in two weeks letting him know if he is accepted in the program. Once he is accepted they put you through the schooling for job placement within the company. It's a paid for program which is so awesome. Jay said he felt like he did pretty well.

Please pray for him...He can use all the blessings he can get of love, support, and courage.

I have complete faith in him and know that God has a plan mastered for him. I give Jay a lot of credit for what he has been through. He's tries to support us the best he can with what he is dealt. A true man standing by his family. I thank God for that!

Psalm 30:11-12
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them
.

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Jay's 3rd Interview

Yes, that is right! His 3rd Interview!!!

A little bit of history:
After having a temp job being a cook at a restaurant for the past 1 1/2 weeks Jay decided it wasn't for him and he pretty much worked there for free and it really doesn't matter besides the fact that everything happens for a reason. The cooking job demanded he work everyday even though he requested to have Sunday's off. When he requested to get off a day because he had an interview (he told the lady he had an appointment) the lady completely blew off the fact he didn't show up for work after telling her way in advance he needed the day off. Later that night (Tuesday) Jay's phone falls in the water when he went kayaking, he wasn't able to go turn it in for a new one until late Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday morning our car got a flat on the way taking me to work which meant he wouldn't be able to make it to cook. A few attempts and no response Jay knew that the cooking job wouldn't work out. On Thursday Jays phone arrives (earlier than the estimated time of Friday afternoon). Once Jay got it all hooked up there was a missed call and a voicemail left just 20 minutes earlier. It was the first company he had an interview with and made it all the way to the 2nd one. They wanted him to come in the following day for the 3rd interview.

 The interview (Friday):
Jay's interview was on Friday at 3:00p.m. I got off of work at 3:15p.m. so my mom watched Bri'elle and brought her to the park by my work until it was time to pick me up. I didn't leave work until 3:30 and we didn't get home until about 3:55 because I let Bri'elle play at the park a little longer so I could watch her and then we picked my little sister up from school. As we pulled into the driveway I get a call from Jay. And guess what he says!?!?!?! He is employed!!!!!!!!!! The best news ever! He tells me how the interview went and that he is on his way home to share the details. Once he got home he told me all about the interview which basically was a meeting with the VP of the company. She asked Jay a few questions like what he was looking to get out of the company and why he would be the right choice for them if they were to hire him. Apparently he said the right answers because after that she hired him. The other lady (the manager of the department he would be working in) who interviewed Jay at the second interview showed him his office and around the building introducing him to the others in the department. She went over some details and said he will receive a letter in the mail to sign welcoming him to the company upon a background screening. And that she will see him on May 2nd for his first day of work.

God is so amazing and answered our prayers just at the right time. We would like to thank everyone who prayed with us and for us. Jay is employed at a great company that he wishes to make a career out of it and not just a job. Jay is completely ecstatic and has worked hard for this. I'm so proud of him. This is a start of a turning point in his, mine, and our families life.

Our Celebration:

Friday night Jay and I went to Happy Hour at Tahoe Joe's, now one of our favorite places. We each ordered a drink and we shared four appetizers. It was so much fun. We got to talk about our future plans and just have a good time knowing that God is taking care of us and has a plan mapped out. We need to be patient and allow him to work in our hearts before we can make the proper steps.

Me and Jay - I set my camera on the top of the booth for the pic.

My happy,well-deserved,proud hubby

One proud and excited wife

Maybe we did order too much food

You can still see the happiness in his face- and it's not from the food :)

When we came home our babysitter (my little sis) & Bri'elle were passed out

Our Future Plans:
Now that we know God has provided us with some security that we have been waiting for we are now discussing our moving out plans, getting a commuter car, paying off the rest of debt, daycare, and an addition to the family. I will keep you posted as things progress and Jay's first day of work. Yes, I took that day off.

Again, I would like to thank everyone!!!!! I appreciate the time and thoughts from everyone especially the support that our family and friends have given us through the past two years of our life that we struggled with only one of us working. I really can't express my feelings because there are so many but the happiness, joy, gratitude, and hope that I'm feeling feels like when I was told I no longer have cancer, when Jay asked me to marry him, our wedding day, when we found out I was pregnant, the birth of Bri'elle, are all just a few situations that I've felt similar emotions.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also too add, Jay and I went to the movies on Saturday ($6.00 tickets from Groupon). We saw The Lincoln Lawyer and I highly recommend this movie. It was a fantastic movie with a great story line.

Testament

I had a vision from God. I know it sounds funny but it's not. It was more of a relief for me. Okay, maybe it wasn't a vision but it was like a ray of sunshine lit my eyes as I prayed on Sunday morning. I felt God's presence so much that during prayer I began to cry. Not a sobbing cry such a light cry of happiness and joy. It was so overwhelming I had no control over my tears either.
With our predicament right now it has been extremely hard not letting things get to me and US for that matter. But lately it I have been letting everything go and casting away my problems not paying them any attention and you want to know something....a MIRACLE happened. I wasn't going to share it because it is a little personal on the financial side and I really hate putting things out there like this but I think I just have to share. So Friday was payday and Jay and I went to the bank together because we were out and about. I was telling Jay I was worried about our bills since for some reason my check was a little less and a significant amount that we had counted on. Jay kind of blew it off because he always seems to think things will be okay and if not they will work out. Ugh, sometimes I wish I could embrace the way he thinks! So I then shrugged it off thinking if he's not going to care then I won't either. Well later that night we were talking and Jay said, "you won't believe this." I then asked, "what?" his reply was, "all of our bills are caught up" I then about had a heart attack! We still can't figure it out how on Earth were we able to almost catch up on the bills we have been struggling (ever since Jay was laid off) to keep up with, especially since this pay period my check was less. I was the most happiest person in the world. I know I was glowing for then on out. One of the things that just puts me in a crazy eight mood is not being a to live financially like we were with security. It is one of the most worst feelings and we have no control over it. So I was a happy camper for that moment or at least the weekend.
On Sunday, we went to church and the morning had started a little rough. Jay hasn't been feeling well and we were running a little late. When we arrived and church I really was hoping for some way to start the day off right and that's when it hit me. As we were praying my future was before, I couldn't see what my future hold besides a weight being lifted off my shoulders. It was so powerful that I literally felt God's hand assuring me things will be okay and work out AND THEN that's when my passed flashed before me. I was reminded that through ALL of the downs I was lifted up again. That I'm here for a reason and that God has a plan for me. I'm a testimony that God is living and the witness I need to be. I need to let my light shine. All this happened within just a few minutes but I had forgot my surroundings and it was as if I was in my own place. I love the way God can take control of your life to grab your attention. It was like God giving my a hug. I needed that....... Thank you!
The rest of the day went quite well.

Through my testament God guided me to Jay. I'm proud to say that God is working through Jay and he has come a long way. I'm very thankful for that and proud that he doing his best to please God and seek him. Recently our church started a basketball group for the men in the church to get together once a week (6:00pm-8:00pm on Sundays) and Jay has been going. I'm so glad because he needs that good influence which is hard to find. And in Jay's case he lost his two best friends at an early age and it has taken a toll on him. Jay has been going to the basketball group with my brother and this past Sunday he invited one of his brothers to join.

Okay, that felt good to share. I needed to do some positive venting and express my gratitude towards God in all the things in my life. :) Also please continue to pray for Jay and the two jobs he applied to last week. We are still waiting to here back from them which could be til the end of the week. Jay has been getting other referrals so also pray for that as he continues to apply. Let's hear some good news!!!!!

Praise God - Jay's 2nd Interview

Today Jay had his 2nd interview for the job I mentioned earlier this week. This time he had an interview with the two top division leaders for the two out of three positions he was interviewed for. Jay said he has a great feeling and actually most of his interviewing was them chit-chatting the whole time. Oh this has to mean something good. The ladies kept telling Jay how they would hire him and how he is hired now because of all the good things Jay offered to the company. At the interview he was given a choice of which job to take and was introduced to some people on the floor. They even showed him around the building. The more the interview progressed the more information he was given like salary, benefits, office policies, and etc. I have such a good feeling about this. When I talked to Jay on the phone right after his interview he sounded so excited. I haven't heard the sound in his voice in a long time. I know this has to feel so good for him. We keeping praying to God. Hopefully everything works out. He should find out tomorrow or sometime next week. There is one more interview with a possible phone interview also. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

After this interview Jay also had another interview at a sports/fitness club to be a runner. The position is for a poolside bartender but I guess you have to start out as a runner no matter what. Once you are in the runner position for 3-4 months then you are able to move up to the original position. This job is for 4 months as runner on the weekends. After that you are evaluated and could move up or you can just leave it at that. Although I'm a little skeptical about Jay getting a fulltime weekday job AND a weekend job I'm trusting in God to give us what we need. Jay says he has a really good feeling about both jobs and thinks this could be it. We will finally be able to get back on our feet.

Here's a verse I read today from my daily Bible - signs are always everywhere

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge, let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me! 2 Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! - Psalm 31:1-2

So my friend Olga started a "link up" called Hubby Thursdays. I thought this was a great idea. It challenges you snap a shot of you and your hubby once a week. Being busy and trying to keep track of everything this will allow us to at least grab some memories that we would like to keep of us as a couple and as a family. I try to snap shots any chance I get but its not always promised I'll get one of myself or of the hubby or even of us together. I'm so excited so here it goes.

This was actually taken tonight! After having a great day we decided to go down to the local bar to see Jay's friend who works there and tell him about Jay's day. When we got there it was packed (St. Patricks) and his friend wasn't working tonight. We stayed for about an hour and came home. Pretty boring! haha. We had a good time sitting there talking with each other and with my brother since he came with us. I really wanted to get a pic with the hubby tonight because I thought he looked very handsome today all dressed up. He had a really nice tie on that just went well with the outfit. After having it on all day he said he had to take it off. Bummer! Maybe I'll get a picture of it next time. It might be my new fave along side his hot pink tie.

God Bless!

Praise God - Jay's Interview

Jay had his interview yesterday!!!! We have been praying and praying and God finally really blessed us with this interview. There is A LOT of potential for this company. Jay was telling me about the interview and he was actually interviewed for 3 positions within the company. I couldn't believe this. They said they never had someone be so qualified for all 3 positions. Oh how wonderful, thank you Lord! He said the interview went very well. He was interviewed by a panel of a few people. They explained the hiring process and he would go through a series of several interviews if he passed each stage until he would be interviewed by the VP of whatever division decided to hire him. I'm so proud of him.

Today I received a phone call from him while I was at work. He said they called him back for a 2nd interview for Thursday. Oh how great God is! We just can't believe it because the process was going to take possibly until May/June for the position to be open. We should believe it since we serve an amazing God who can make all things possible through him. After I hung up with him, I called him back on my break 15 minutes later. He received another email from a hotel requesting an interview for a poolside bar/grill position. The interview is set for the same day as the other one just a few hours later so once he leaves one he will be on his way to the other.

I'm so excited right now. I've needed to practice my anxiety and hopefulness. We have been really trusting in the Lord and maybe finally this is it. Or at least God has our attention.

I read this verse the other day when I was having a really bad day. I was reflecting back on how bad things were getting for us and just really couldn't see that things were going to change. I have a Bible on my phone that gives me daily verses and this is what popped up that day.....

"When you pass through the water, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you" - Isaiah 43:2

Thank you everyone for your prayers! Please continue to pray for us as this is only the beginning and God needs to hear praise for what he has done and the mercy that we need to present to him. Please pray for the Jay for God to bless him and shine his light through him when he presents himself to his possible future employers.
