Hubby Thursdays - Love your Husbands

Linking up with Olga Marquez

I loved Olga's post about being the women of God. We, as the daughter of the Lord Almighty and wife of a dear husband, have a lot of power and responsibilities within our family. I'm not talking about the daily responsibilities we would do around the house and taking care of our family but how we give love and praise. As mothers we set some of the examples for our children and need to show them how to walk and follow in the Lord. to bring praise and lift his name on high. By doing this all your burdens will be carried for you. Also as a wife one of our duties is to call on the Lord for our husband and pray. It is so important to pray to God. I love to pray to God, its time I devote to him and pour out my heart and soul. I know when I'm finished I feel relief and an enlightened presence.

Olga has some great scriptures in her posting. I love everyone of them. Recently on my Daily Bible App there was a verse that stuck out and I think it would go great with the post:

Luke 12:29-31
And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

This verse is speaking of reality. Like parents we know our children need certain things so of course God would know what we need. When our children do good and seek what we are wanting them to they are given the things that they need. Just like if we seek God we are given the things that we need. Let our worries be rested.

Here is another verse I found for WOMAN - it is a very powerful verse:

Proverbs 14:1
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

So, since today is Thursday the hubby as what we were doing today.... haha I'm loving this. We have a movie ticket from last year that I bought for a $1.00 off of one of my coupons sites. It expires on the 25th so we were going to see the Pirates of the Caribbean tonight for the midnight show but decided to go sometime this weekend since I don't know if I can stay up that late and then head to work in the morning. The Backup Plan came in Netflix today so were going to cuddle and watch that. I also made the hubby his favorite, Coffee Cake for dessert. I've been in a cooking/baking spree lately. We both love to cook and with school and everything else I had to take a break which Jay has been doing most of the cooking and usually he'll ask me if I want to do some things but since he loves to cook too he figured it was his turn in the kitchen. Watch out buddy, mommas back in action. Last night I made a delicious Chicken BLT pasta salad and homemade Crepes I will post the recipes later this week.

HAPPY THURSDAY

Sister Saturday

Oh this wasn't any ordinary Saturday!

I had the pleasure of spending this past Saturday with my sister's, sister's in Christ. The beginning of this year I joined a Bible study group - thanks to Marissa for inviting me. We get together the second Saturday of every month and of course gather with all of our little ones. It's such a special time... We get to have mom time, God time, friend time, and whatever other type of time we fit in there depending on our topic for study that day ;)
I look forward to going the next month the second I get in my car. Today I was actually googling new study books that I could refer once we complete this session. I'm definitely feeling closer to Christ and I have to hand it to these women because it's not easy without some support of empowering Godly sister's. An uplifting spirited feeling.

At this Bible study it was "Extraordinary"(this is for you Olga - a perfect description : D), we celebrated one of the girl's birthday by surprising her with lunch and a cake. We also had good conversation as we took part in the 'Bedroom' & Christ study. For me it was great to be a part of it. I couldn't have asked for perfect new friends for God to put in my life at this time (along with a friendship that has been refreshed and revitalized for a stronger, wholesome, completed connection). I also LOVE surprises, I surprised myself by not going overboard. hahaa you know me and surprises.

Below are a few snapshots I took at the study - next time ladies we need to get one of ALL of us:

The girls terrorizing Rowan's room

Oceana reading to Bri'elle

Jordan & Raychel

Surprise!

The Birthday girl

After Bible study, Bri'elle and I went home with Marissa and Jordan. There we hung out with them and stayed for dinner. Jay joined us later when he finished being with his dad. The girls had tons of fun playing with each other and wore themselves out.

Playing Hide N seek

Jordan getting ready to hide

Bri'elle coming out from hiding

Chowing down!

I hand it to Saturdays! They are what make my work week all worth it. :)

Mother's Day Weekend

This weekend was a busy one. To top it off it was mother's day!!!!

On Friday we hung out, Jay made some amazing homemade (even the chips were homemade) nachos. Ever since Vegas I have been craving them. I had some yummy one's at a place called PBR. They were nachos made with BBQ chips. YUMMY! Anyways, the nachos we made was from the leftovers we had from Cinco de Mayo.

On Saturday, I got up early and headed out to Golden Gate Park with the girls for the Brain Tumor Walk. It was important that I go to support Laura even though we didn't participate, we at least wanted to check it out for next year. The weather was pretty nice too with a little bit of a chill. The walk wasn't very long and we headed back a little in mid-afternoon.

Next, after the walk, I went home and picked up Bri'elle then headed off to Benicia for Anthony's birthday party. He turned 4 on the 4th! I can't believe it! I remember getting a picture text of Jan in the hospital. I was at a concert in San Jose, I left the concert at that moment and drove all the way to vallejo and made it through the doors to hear his first cry as he was just being born. :) Bri'elle had a good time at his party. There was a jumpy which she has never actually been in. We let her and my cousins girlfriend's daughter Haley (she is 2) in there together without any of the older kids. They had a blast. At first they really weren't sure what to do but the longer they were in there the more fun they started to have.

After the party, I picked up Jay at home and headed to my sister Haley's last swim meet. I have never been to one of her swim meet's so I definitely wanted to go and check her out. I always hear how good she is but never actually seen her swim (besides at practice). She did great. I think her team came in 4th place (which is good considering the other teams had at least 10 more students to there swim team). I never knew how long those could go for. We were down there for 4 hours and it started 2 hours before we got there. WOWSER!

Mother's Day:

What made this year super special was that Bri'elle was dedicated at church. Jay and I were super excited to have committed to something like this and involve our daughter. It is our commitment we made to God in front of witnesses that we will raise Bri'elle in the name of the Lord. Even though Bri'elle didn't quite know what was going on she had an amazing glow and awe to her. It was as if God was shining out from her. Her dedication was very special and a blessing that some of our family members and friends got to witness it. We are so thankful for those who we love dearly share the moment with us.

Our church held a brunch for the occasion and had rooms set up in a beach, rock band, and traditional themes for family portraits. Of course we took advantage of this moment. We were in one with Jay's family including some of my family in the rock band theme and then one of us three in the traditional theme.

When we got home Jay went to the grocery store while Bri'elle and I relaxed and watch Toy Story 2. About an hour later we went to lunch with Jay's parents at Sala Thai.

Once we got home Jay started cooking away. He made my mom and I delicious filet Mignon, King crab legs, broccoli and cheese, salad, and rice pilaf. Then for dessert we had tiramisu.

It was such a special day. I love feeling pampered even though I feel like that pretty much everyday. I'm so thankful for a wonderful husband and daughter that care so much for me. God sure has blessed me with great people in my life and two are my very favorite : D.

Momma In Focus Friday - Details

Linking up with Casey Martinez

One Day At A Time

This weeks prompt: Details

The things that make up the details in life between you and your child.

We had fun today. When I got off of work Bri'elle and I went to my neighbors to see there new little puppy while daddy took a nap because his allergies have been really getting to him. Once we got home we went grocery shopping and then returned home to make dinner. After dinner when Jay and I were cleaning up the kitchen we heard my sister laughing. We go see what she is laughing about and of course it's at Bri'elle. Bri'elle found herself a new little hiding spot, under the computer desk. It is so darn cute when she hides too. She gets this little grin when you start calling to her and then peeks her head just a little out from underneath it. it. The little spot kept her busy. She played under there for about 15 mins. Another little cure thing she learned how to do is fake sleep. I've been trying to get it on camera so once I do I will post it.
Our recent pic from today. Snacking on some powdered donuts pappy spoiled us with

I love my little girl and all the details she brings along.

100th Post!!!!

(I posted this either yesterday or the day before and for some reason it wasn't posted, so here it is)

Celebrate Good Times!!!

Wow, I can't believe I've finally made it to 100 postings. It is so hard to believe. I hope with this 100th post many more with come & sooner than I have been. So in this post I;m going to catch up on the things I've needed to blog about the past two weeks since I've been on vacation and trying to catch up. :)

Hubby Thursday from April 28th with Olga Marquez
Three things that I love about my husband:
(1) He loves me (2) He gives his all when he does something (3) He is a great cook
This was hard trying to ONLY pick three things but I thought these three things pretty much summed him up. Others would be to add that he is loyal, honest, down to earth, is a great father, and loves God.
When I got home from vacation on Sunday he had dinner (BBQ) waiting for me on the table all nicely prepared. Luckily I took the next day off so the three of us could have a family day together.

Easter
Bri'elle was so excited this year for Easter. She was able to participate in the egg hunt and she loved it. All the big kids loved it to they would throw their eggs back out and hide them because they got such a big kick out of her reactions from finding the eggs. For her Easter basket we try to do things that she needs and could use going forward. We didn't do any candy in the eggs, instead we filled them with her little snacks. We even found gold "bunnies" (like gold fish) for her eggs. Her basket from us consisted of the Tangled and Shrek Ever After movies, sunglasses, flip flops, a stuffed lamb, Veggie Tales music cd, and we put it all in a bucket for the beach. Our Sunday was busy. We went to church, Jay's dad's, Jay's grandma's, and my nanas. The day before Easter we took Bri'elle to the Spring Fling event our church had and then had dinner with my dad's side of the family. Also to add for Good Friday we gave up eating meat and ate fish tacos. This is our new tradition we have done the last two years. Our Easter was fantastic

Post anything you want about your hubby
Well this is my first week back from my vacation with my family. I took Monday off to spend an extra day with them and catch up on any lost time or at least try to. The hubby takes me and the little one to breakfast and then later we went to Tilden Park to the little farm. We let Bri'elle play at the playground and then headed to see the animals. It was such a fun day. The hubby always knows how to make my day. He tries so hard to make me happy. And even though lately not being able to work he still tries to provide for the family the best he can. I love him so much and I'm so thankful God sent him my way.

Black and White
I'm about two to three weeks away from my classes ending. This semester I took four classes. Crazy, I know! I'm really trying to finish so I can start a career and maybe fulfill a little more and provide for my family. Jay and I have been so confused on the directions we should take and where God wants us to be that we started considering every option possible and trying every option possible until there is that door that is open that you should walk through. We figure if you don't turn the knob to open it you will never find out if it is locked or unlocked.
I've been cramming the last week or so just trying to get my work done. When I was doing some homework, Bri'elle climbed up on my lap and sat down in front of my computer. All she wanted to do is look at what I was looking at and tried to help me. She handed me my binder, my book, and my pencil. When I would try to click and type she wanted to do it to. Then she would look at me, give me a hug and kiss. It was like she knew I could do it and was comforting me telling me, "mommy I know you can do it" "don't worry mommy, be easy on yourself" "I love you mommy". It felt so good that she was wanting to help me and was giving me her support. I also like doing my homework around her so she sees that homework is good.

So now that the blog is almost up to date (I'll post mothers days separately) below are some pictures from the past couple of weeks for the link ups. I'm going to post them all under here :)

This is before I left for vacation. Bri'elle and I are hanging out having some fun. She was being really silly with her little snacks.

The night I left for my trip the three of us went to Mels Diner for dinner. It was the grand opening for the restaurant in our area. It was kind of exciting. I kept the kids coloring paper Bri'elle drew on for her keepsakes. It was delicious and pretty quick the first day. Since then Jay has almost been a regular. (notice anything different with my skin, besides the fact I'm NOT wearing ANY makeup.....I got a spray tan.)
