Hubby Thursday - Where it all Began

Hubby Thursdays link up with Olga Marquez
The prompt this week: Where/how you met and the very first picture and a recent picture

When we first met:

Our Recent Photo:

Jay and I met in the 9th grade in high school. We had seen each other in middle school but was never formally introduced or hung out until high school. In 9th grade I had a crush on Jay and then I found out who his older brother was and had a crush on his brother throughout high school (isn't that funny). In high school we were really good friends. We always hung out, talked, and pretty much was each others best friend. We actually made a promise to each other back then that if by the time we were 25 and not married (or in a relationship) we would marry each other. And look where we are today. After high school we became even closer. Nothing was ever looked at as I like him or I like her it was a mutual best friend relationship. The more we hung out the less I thought I could ever imagine myself with him. I realized one day that I like him, no I take that back, I loved him. Everytime I talked about him I always had a smile on my face and couldn't wait until he would call me or we would hang out. Apparently Jay started to realize the same thing so we kind of told each other but didn't really have to say anything. Our first date (I don't count the numerous dates Jay says he took me on but we were going as "just friends") was to our friends house party on New Years Eve. That night when the clock struck midnight Jay confessed his love for me under the moonlight. It was pretty romantic considering there was a bunch of drunks and foolish people around. From then on I knew I would marry him. :) And that's our story.

Our little one was sick this week so we weren't sure if we would have any time for the two of us. We haven't had me and him time since before I left for Vegas. It's hard to leave Bri'elle even for a little bit when she's sick. When I was little all I wanted were my parents to cuddle with (I still go crying to them when I get sick). This morning (on Thursday) I was little for work Bri'elle was in so much pain she whined and cried. Nothing that Jay or I did was enough to help her. I felt so bad and wanted to stay home to be with her. Jay insisted for me to go to work (we need the money) and that he would take extra good care of her for me. It made me feel a little better but I missed her ALL day (as usual but worse when she's sick) and kept thinking about if she was going to get better. I prayed last night for awhile to God to relief her of her pain and help her get through this. We are pretty sure it's from her teething. It's never gotten this bad before but I think she has way too many trying to cut through. Ugh! I wish I could teeth for her...haha..

So Bri'elle is doing a lot better. Her two teeth are almost all the way through and to top it off we think she has allergies from the weather changing so much. We are outside a lot so it doesn't surprise me.

Last night (Thursday night) on our way home we got time to ourselves. We were driving home a little late (around Bri'elles bedtime) and decided since Bri'elle was falling asleep in the car that we would continue our car ride until she is completely sound asleep. We drove through our "back roads" were we live. Its a long piece of road with no houses, no lights, and just the sound of your car. It was really peaceful and relaxing. Jay and I held hands as we drove and sat in silence. It was as if we were talking to each other without even saying anything. I loved every moment. Our radio played a song that is one of Jays favorite songs. I'm not sure who the artist is or what the name is called but it is about a man who is praying to God, he is praying for each person around him that needs prayer for there certain situation. At the end the guy tells God the man he's praying for is him. It's such a touches song. A part that seemed like it played louder than anything else and it made me feel electricity between Jay and I was a part he says "I'm praying for you". It was so perfect. We should always pray for our spouse and thank God for them. Even though we didn't get our usual date together or "alone" time, it still made me feel like we were able to connect with each other. The above pictures are from our little drive. We pulled over real quick and snapped a couple.

Vegas with the Girls

Wonder why our blog has been lagged the past week.... I was in Vegas. The trip consisted of three of us girls. We went for my friend Laura's bachelorette party. Since Jay and I own timeshare we stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club located at the Flamingo hotel. The three of us did a road trip to Vegas instead of flying and let me tell you, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Even though it took about 9 hrs there and roughly about 10 hrs back our conversation and scenery couldn't be bought by how expensive airfare is right now. Plus, we enjoyed having a great time together like we always do.

It was so tough being away from my family. I missed my hubby so much. All the things he does for me I was reminded of him throughout the day with different things. I missed my little girl tremendously. I kept thinking she was going to forget about me or think that I abandoned her. When I returned both were so excited to see me as I was for them. I even cried as Bri'elle was waiting outside for me and when she saw me she started running for me with my arms wide open. When I swooped her up, I just starting crying. It was so emotional for me.

The girls and I had tons of fun needless to say. We explored different areas of Vegas going to a breakfast place that serves red velvet pancakes to getting comped dinner at the Palms. We also saw Holly Madison in Peep Show (Sherin and mine's second time seeing it). Oh and I can't forget our 3 hours at the Buffet in the Wynn Hotel. Our trip was so amazing and one of the last celebrations until Laura's Big Day.

Now since what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, I'll share a few:

Momma In Focus Friday - Freebie Week

One Day At A Time
Link Up with Casey Martinez

This week's prompt was a freebie.

Today, was a relaxing day. I haven't been feeling really well so I just wanted to kick back after I got off of work, especially since we have a busy weekend ahead of us. When I got home from work we hung out at the house for about an hour. I took Bri'elle outside and played. The hubby wanted to go on a walk, so we did! It was a little cold outside so we made sure to bundle Bri'elle up nice and snuggly. She was loving it. She absolutely loves her blankies and I think she likes the material of the inside of her jacket. It's so fun when we go on walks. The amazement in Bri'elles eyes just warm my heart as she's taking in her surroundings. Now she likes to lean all the way forward in her stroller where her head is by her feet. She'll watch the ground move beneath her as we continue forward. After a few minutes she'll lift her head and do a goofy laugh. Oh how I adore her.

The Easter holiday brings butterflies and sweet memories. Jay and I took our pregnancy test right before Easter when we were trying for our little sweet Bri'elle. The test was positive and I scheduled my first appointment. We had to go through the Easter holiday knowing I was pregnant but everyone else didn't. She was our little treasure at that moment. We wanted to soak up her liveliness that was being brought into our lives.

We ended up taking a walk for about 30 minutes around our house. The area we live is nice and peaceful and GREAT for walks. Before we left we decided to walk to the shopping center where we live (about 2.5 mi away) but then because the weather wasn't looking too good we just decided to circle our area.

Our walk was fantastic. We got home just in time for dinner, bath, and to start our eggs for egg dying.

Hubby Thursdays - Fun Together

Link up with Olga Marquez

This week's prompt: What you two like doing together

It's funny how this link up is working out because the hubby expects it when Thursdays come around and he gets all excited saying, "what are we doing this week?" and he already makes it into a date type of thing for us (as long as it works for that week) since he knows how much it means to me. : D It's so cute....

Jay and I pretty much LOVE doing whatever together. We mesh really well and compliment each other. Not to mention we used to work together so I think that helped to build our relationship seeing each other really 24/7 literally. A few things that we absolutely love is cooking, shopping, pampering, relaxing, traveling, okay so I lied that is pretty much everything (lol). One of our favorite things that we do together is cook and travel. We both love food (if you haven't noticed almost ALL of our posts include food). It's awesome that we share this passion for the decoration, the display, taste, texture, and smell of food. Another thing we love to do is shop. Even if it is just window shopping. We have tons of fun going into the stores picking out what we would love in a future house or even just being silly and walking out with smiles on our faces and our hands empty. I thinks its the conversation and the time together that matters.

It worked out perfectly for today because we needed to get some stuff for Easter. And it was for Bri'elle so we left her with my mom and sister. It's always fun shopping for her when she's not there so then it's more of a secret and like I;m not spoiling something by letting her see it. We went to Michael's (the arts and craft store) and then to Target.

After our shopping brigade we went and picked the little girl up to finish our date, so it turned into a family date. It was still a lot of fun. Even our poor teething girl had fun (yes, she is teething again!). We went for an early dinner at the Powder Keg FYI - the best fish tacos. We ordered a fish n chicken with chips combo and fish tacos. Bri'elle loved the fish. We were so surprised that she preferred the fish over the chicken. Now that's our girl! Instead of regular fries we got garlic fries since it just sounded good. They were good! Once we filled our bellies we headed over to Starbucks grabbed two white choc mochas for me and the hubby and for our lil girl we grabbed a kids apple cider. There is a cute little park over by the Powder Keg so we headed back that way and went to that park. We were there for about an hour. There is a big frog statue thing at the park and Bri'elle thought it was the best thing at the park. It was so cute because I think she thought it was real.

It was a lot of fun at the park. We were hoping it helped Bri'elle get her teething off of her mind. Once we got home she laid herself in bed, pulled up the covers, and said night night. Too cute! About an hour after we got home I headed off to the gym. I workout for about an hour and a half. The little one was already asleep so mommy and daddy get to finish their date. A new Netflix dvd arrived in the mail today so we are going to watch it. Usually we are pretty good about returning them but this last one we had for a week! I'm hoping to get the one we got today watched and send it off on its way for the next one. This one was Jay's pick of Fighter. Let's hope its good.

Good Night!

Super Saturday

You got to love weekends! I know I do! Not only because you can relax and do nothing if you feel like it, but also because you can jam pack it will tons to do. Weekends (or your days off) you are allowed to make up your own schedule and do what you please.

Here was our schedule:

Saturday Morning we woke up and went to breakfast. My little sister came with us since she was the only one left at home. I'd rather her come with us than be all alone. We went to one of mine favorite breakfast places, Fat Apple. This place holds a special place in my heart. It was the place my late grams would take us to when we were little. I remember going there when I was maybe in the second grade and ordering apple fritters. She always knew how to make us happy and I will continue to treasure the memories she left behind. I want to continue to go there and when Bri'elle gets older, I'll be able to share the good of things like my grams shared with us.

Next Daddy left for the gym, mommy left for a trip to Treasure Island with the girls, & Bri'elle stayed home with her Auntie. I left for Treasure Island, Sf. with Laura, Sherin, and Laura's dad Jeff about 20 mins before Jay got home from the gym. We were heading out there to help Laura make a few final decisions on linens and for her to tie up any loose ends before the big day. There was a wedding going on at the same time so we went over and got a peek at the reception area. The venue was so beautiful all decked out in "wedding". I know Laura's day will be fabulous. Of course since we were standing there "crashing" the wedding I had to snap a quick pic of us :)

When I returned home Jay was in the process of making dinner. I finished up some last minute homework and spent some time with Bri'elle before Jay and I headed over to a friends (Marissa & Justin) house to go out. Tonight would be a first in awhile where Jay and I both got to go out. It was so much fun. We went to Saddlerack for Marissa's mom, Traci's birthday and  also her and Dave's anniversary. Marissa and Justin invited a few of their friends to help celebrate. I'm so glad we went since that is a once in awhile type of night.

(pictures to come)

Sunday was a church and relax day. We went to brunch with Jays mom, sister, and brother at the dead fish then came home took a 3 hour nap and then I finished up the rest of my homework before Spring Break.

I love weekends like this. A little bit of everything was done and we had fun!

Jan's 25th Surprise Bday Party

Last Friday while daddy and Bri'elle were on their date I went to my cousins surprise party. We were celebrating her 25th birthday. Her husband asked me and her sister-in-law to help set things up and pretty much plan it while he planned how he was going to get her there. We hosted it at her parents house. The theme was Tiki (hawaiian) theme. It was a fun party. She had no idea what was going on. Pj (her husband) told her he was taking her out to dinner and that her parents were watching their two kids. So when they arrived at the house we all were in the garage and opened it as they walked up the pathway. SURPRISE! It was priceless, however if you know Jan then you know she does not like surprises. But we all had a good time, there were a lot of good laughs throughout the night.
